There are those who claim they don’t imagine anything before doing it.
They say things such as, “I just do it,” or “I just work hard.”
My first question to these people is as follows: “Since you believe you don’t use your imagination, you obviously no longer need it, so would you be agreeable to an operation that removed it from you?”
A loud “NOOOOOO” can then be heard.
My second question: “What comes just before you just do it, or before you just work hard?”
“Well, I don’t know.”
My third question: “Do you see a picture in your mind before you do what you just do?”
“Uh, I guess I do. I never thought about it before, but yes, I can now see that I do.”
“Indeed, you do,” I reply. “Now imagine if you took the time to learn something about how you’re already using your imagination unconsciously, to make it bigger and stronger, so you can use it consciously and get even better results.”
Here endeth today’s lesson.
