“The Greatest” had a secret for getting himself to work hard when he encountered resistance.
His own resistance.
The kind of resistance that makes you prone to procrastination and frustration. The kind of resistance that leads to NOT reaching your goals because you’re picturing the wrong images in your mind’s eye.
Ali had a way around the resistance.
When other people were out partying or sleeping and he had a fight to prepare for, Muhammad Ali told himself something that motivated him to get the job done.
Want to know what that was?
I reveal all in the following must watch YouTube clip.

Ever set a goal or form an intention and end up getting the opposite of what you want?
An athlete who is playing a sport of accuracy, such as golf, tennis, bowling and baseball, often finds out that whatever he or she intends may actually end up being the worst thing to focus on because it rarely, if ever, happens.
Try to sink a putt and you’ll miss. Try to hit a homerun and you’ll hit a ground ball. Try to serve an ace and you’ll fault.
Strange but true.
And it’s not just the word “try” that is the problem with these intentions.
It’s the reality that many goals are similar to the perceived “pot of gold” at the end of the rainbow. You chase after them only to end up with nothing but feelings of emptiness.
The same is true of money. When you chase after money, it runs faster.
This is why people who understand the secrets of accumulating money never use the word “chase”or “push” in their description of the process.
Neither do they advocate doing nothing but “thinking.”
How you think is part of the equation. It’s the first and most important part.
Another part, though, is WHAT you’re thinking about – and chances are excellent that if you focus on a homerun when it comes to money, you’ll flop and fail.
Great athletes learn to focus on a process. In fact, for the most part, the process, the daily goal, the small action steps, the change in habits… these become the major goals and the desired outcome is minimized.
Yes, you still have a desire to have more, do more and be more – it’s just that you understand your mental images and the habits you implement from those images are what is going to move you forward. This means you’re far better off focusing on your habits. Period.
A high school baseball player I worked with had a goal to bat .400. He finished the season at .203.
The following year he set the same goal of .400. He batted .224.
The next year, he listened to my advice and set no goal whatsoever in terms of batting average. Instead he worked on the self-image techniques I taught him on how to focus on the process.
He batted .506 that year,
Hmmmmmmmm.
You read it here first, my friend.
Make the process the major goal – and you can work miracles.
Here endeth the lesson.

Almost a year ago, I met with a man in his 50’s who was down in the dumps.
His life was not going well – straight across the board.
His spouse was on him to “make more money” – and every idea he came up with, or that I gave him, got shot down.
Perhaps his ideas needed to be shot down – but NOT MINE.
My ideas on the subject were not only tested, they were valid – and proven.
[And yes, I realize this subject goes both ways in the spousal department. Husbands put their wives down, too.On with my story…]
I sat with the man and encouraged him the begin using the power of cursive handwriting to not only change his brain waves, but to put him into a different emotional state.
Being an acupuncturist who is fluent in Japanese, he was well aware of the power of calligraphy. In Japan and China, it’s not uncommon for calligraphers to be commissioned to write a single character. Or to create a scroll with no more than four characters. These are to be displayed in your home or office to change the vibration.
But what about the vibration of the calligrapher?
Is he highly paid for his craft?
Well, let me put it this way: On a recent visit to the Shaolin Temple, my friend had a scroll made for his wife. He paid top dollar – and so did the continuous flow of people who came before and after him.
How long did it take the calligrapher to create each scroll?
Not long at all.
Well, that’s all well and swell – but how’s that going to do anything for the guy I’m coaching?
Is he going to sell his handwriting?
No, he’s not. But he is going to alter his mental picture of himself. He’s going to change who he is, in terms of his self-image… and how he feels about himself.
I gave the man some specific words to write in cursive – NOT PRINT.
You don’t change much at all when you print.
The man followed my suggestions and he immediately began to relax and smile. He started to laugh out loud.
He’s now making an EASY five figures per month.
That’s the power of writing ONE WORD.
And yet another reason why I hesitate in recommending affirmations.
Why?
Because what I teach is better.
Yes, you can overcome the failure mechanism – and you can do it with ONE WORD.
How about that?
Here endeth the lesson.

A few question to consider this morning:
How flexible is your mind?
Not an easy question, so let me elaborate with “easier” ones:
How many different views do you have of yourself?
Can you see yourself from different angles and directions?
Can you picture yourself in different sizes or dimensions?
How many ways can you see your life and circumstances?
If the answer is only one – you have a lot of room to grow.
Why? Because mental flexibility is the key to being able to change your self-image and your life.
You cannot change your self-image or your SELF if you are unwilling to see yourself in a different way(s).
Can you picture yourself being 10 feet tall … or only at your REAL height?
Can you mentally pretend you are the size of a young child?
You might think these are interesting questions, but only because no one has ever asked you them before – including yourself.
I can tell you that these questions are KEY to changing who you are, and the essence of them is covered in even more detail in the first lesson of Zero Resistance Living, the ultimate program for turning your life right-side up.
Go check out the details on this program NOW. You’ll be thrilled you did.
Why?
Because the Power of Imagination is bigger than you think.
Play with it and you’ll understand why – especially when you see what the positive future holds for you.

Pick up a self-help book and most of the time, it doesn’t take long for the author to begin espousing the glories of positive affirmations.
Many of these authors are well-meaning, but in almost all cases, they are just repeating what someone else wrote or said.
The sad truth is that many of these authors pass on what other authors wrote when they have no proven track record whatsoever of it working in their own life.
One book tells you that you’ll get rich if you write affirmations about “having it all.”
Tell yourself, I AM RICH.
Or, I AM A MILLIONAIRE.
As you begin to follow this advice, things often go in reverse.
The authors will then tell you that the reason you’re struggling is because you have “limiting beliefs.” You’re advised to take note of what all your limiting beliefs are, then change them to their positive counterpart.
Thing is, you might have a million and a half negative or limiting beliefs, many of them unconscious, so you’re not exactly about to figure out what ALL of them are, must less record them, so you can reverse them.
Ugh!
There’s got to be a simpler way than this.
And in fact, there is.
Let me begin with a simple question:
What if the notion that you need to change your limiting beliefs was just an idea, and not necessarily an idea that is true?
What if the notion that all these limiting beliefs are keeping you from being rich, prosperous, famous and highly fortunate were, for the most part, a very clever marketing ploy designed to make the author of the book wealthy – but not YOU?
Well, all I can say is, it wouldn’t be the first time someone sold something that doesn’t work – and didn’t care – so long as it made him a bundle.
The reality is that MOST affirmations are a crock of crap.
And most of your so-called limiting beliefs that you’re being advised to fix, aren’t holding you back in the least. There’s no need to fix them because they’re not relevant when you have your mind focused in the most effective, efficient and natural way.
Now, let me clarify something: I am in favor of SOME affirmations. I am not in favor of MOST.
In fact, I have taught thousands of people to do the exact opposite of what the positive thinking books advise, and whaddyaknow, the method I taught worked far better.
Por ejemplo, you’ve probably heard about the three P’s of positive affirmations. If not, the theory is that whatever you affirm must:
Be positive
Be personal
Be in the present tense
This means that you would not say or think, “I’m hungry. I am going to go get something to eat.”
No, no, no. Don’t do that, even though you’ve successfully filled your belly for an entire lifetime doing precisely that.
Instead, be a good little self-help disciple and follow the three P’s.
Instead of “I’m hungry” you should write “I am well fed now.” Or, “I am always eating enough food.”
Now, don’t laugh too hard. This is el Furecat reducing self-help to the ridiculous, and for a reason.
You would never in a zillion years think of being hungry as a negative or limiting belief, would you?
Why? Because it’s the truth, at least once a day, isn’t it?
Why not report the truth then? What would be the harm in doing so?
“Oh, but the gurus say….”
Forget the gurus. Think. Really think about what I am writing to you about.
Why would you write an affirmation such as, “I am a millionaire now” when you don’t even do such a thing for simple everyday accomplishments such as feeding your face (and stomach)?
It appears to me that saying, “I am hungry” and “I need food” is working out pretty well for you.
But maybe this is too complicated. Perhaps we need another scenario for validation.
Alrighty then, let’s say you’re driving around town and you look at the fuel gauge and it says that you’ve got five miles left before you’re completely out of gas.
What to do?
Oh, I know. How about this? “My car is now completely filled with gas.” Or this, “The universe always supplies me with all the gas I need.”
What do you think?
Is that going to put gas in your tank?
I don’t think so.
In fact, I know so.
I don’t even “believe” it to be so. I absolutely, 1,000% percent KNOW that saying, “My car is now completely filled with gas,” makes about as much sense as a fart in church.
If your goal is to travel another 100, 1,000 or 10,000 miles, you better say to yourself something very limited, such as: “I need gas. I’m almost empty. I better stop at that gas station over there (first one you see).”
To be continued…
Here endeth the lesson!

Earlier today I received an email from a medical doctor who is both a friend and a client. He’s always coming up with seemingly unique ways to apply everything I teach him, mostly due to his incredible schedule.
Anywho, the doctor informed me that he’s visualizing having a cup of coffee while he’s in the shower. On top of that, he pictures himself exercising, seeing his patients – and doing everything he is obligated to do each day – but now with a…..
SMILE.
IMAGINE THAT.
It’s not just that the doctor is picturing and visualizing himself doing what he’s already planned on doing.
It’s that he’s doing so with a positive countenance – something so very few people enjoy each day, when they’re engaged and enraged in an invisible cage.
My, my, how life opens up to you when you relax the frown and furrowed brow, when you lift up the sides of your lips – thereby lifting your heart.
Well, well, what’s been the result of the good doctor picturing a Cheshire Cat smile everywhere he goes in everything he does?
Remarkable and miraculous flow.
Now, to give you even more of the story…
there are some other things as well as words you can use when you visualize, and the ones I teach ramp up the power of your smile even more. In fact, they ramp it up to such a degree that your whole body smiles.
I reveal these words one of my best-selling products.
You can listen to it as you’re driving around town, or stuck in traffic. It’ll unstick your mind and help you reel in the type of life you really want to live.
I’d say “Doctor’s orders” – but I’m not a doctor.
So, enjoy the 300 or so ideas you get from listening.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The title is 101 Ways to Magnetize Money – in Any Economy – but the reality is that some people will tell you they heard 300 ways, and that’s when they stopped counting. Either way, we’re looking at an absolute STEAL on WHEELS.
See it. Do it. Own it.

Here’s an idea. Instead of TGIF – Thank God it’s Friday, how about NFOF – No Fear on Friday?
It’s one day per week, for starters, where you stop worrying and start living. It’s a day when you choose to use your weekend wisely, doing what you love to do, going after the dreams and goals you’ve put off. It’s a day to release unnecessary inhibitions, expand your courage and be more fully alive.
It’s not about getting sauced, partying or being lazy all weekend.
Now is your chance, this Friday and every other Friday, to grab control of your life at an entirely unprecedented level.
Write that book. Study that course. Catch your fish.
Do what makes your heart leap and your blood swim.
And guess where all of these shifts in doing take place first?
It’s called the Theatre of the Mind.
We see, we hear, we think about in the form of mental images, then we DO.
That’s how we human beings roll.
Whether your eyes are open or closed, you see things, then you act upon them.
Some people see things quickly and act immediately. Others see things and ponder a bit longer, in more detail, then act.
Others see images that all of the above is hogwash and not worth their time – and they act accordingly, too.
Whether you spend the weekend on the couch with a bottle of booze – or outdoors exploring nature – it starts within your own mind in the form of mental images that we turn into reality via our actions.
Want different results – choose different images.
The new images will lead to different behaviors and actions, and these lead to different results.
Doubt me?
Then take a few minutes to see yourself doing something different today or tonight, then stand back and observe as the seas part and the mountains open up new trails for you to explore.
Let’s Grow!
Matt Furey
P.S. by the way, many of you have asked if there’s a digital version of Theatre of the Mind. Yes, there is and you can download it here. .
by Matt Furey
There’s a belief inside the minds of many in the self-help industry that all you need to do is believe in something and everything will work out for you.
This idea has some validity – even though it’s a fallacy.
Yes, if you believe the doctor will make you well again, it can and may help in your recovery. But then again, what if the doctor’s ways worked for you even though you had your doubts?
That would be better, wouldn’t it?
Why?
Because most people don’t believe anything 100 percent, with good reason.
If I have a visualization technique, such as Theatre of the Mind, and I say it works for me and millions of others, I don’t expect you to believe me just because I said so.
I want you to experiment with the technique, to work on it and observe what happens.
That’s how I got started.
Back in 1981, I first learned to use mental imagery to enhance my skills as a collegiate wrestler on a powerhouse team.
I was incredibly skeptical.
I wondered to myself, how can picturing something in my mind’s eye do anything?
This makes no sense. I’m a man of action. I need to do. I don’t need to sit around picturing myself doing.
But I was curious as well as skeptical, at the same time, so I gave the system a whirl.
I listened to the audio tape that was made for me.
I listened every day before practice and to my surprise, I started to make rapid improvements.
I still didn’t believe, so I tested further.
Over the decades (yes, it’s been awhile), I’ve tested mental imagery on everything from sports, to fitness to starting a business, learning a foreign language, writing a book, giving speeches, traveling the world, getting a new home, making a fortune, and so on.
I have not succeeded 100 percent of the time – but let me tell you, my winning percentage is waaaaaaay off the charts.
In Psycho-Cybernetics, Dr. Maltz understood the reality that people will be skeptical. That’s why he recommends a minimum of 21 days before you decide for or against the program.
He doesn’t ask you to change your beliefs, although he does write about the power of belief.
What he does do is give you a procedure, a prescription, to change your life. He gives it to you incrementally so that your beliefs change in and of themselves – not by force.
Your beliefs change because you KNOW the process works – not because you programmed yourself to believe.
Here endeth the lesson.
