It’s October already. Amazing, isn’t it?
We have 90 days to go before we ring in another year.
How are you coming along? Are you getting your goals or do you feel stuck?
Drop me a line either way as I learn so much from your feedback.
In the interim, here’s a snippet from Psycho-Cybernetics 365 that you can feast upon:
If you’ve played baseball or softball, you learned that everything does not
go your way much of the time.
What you’re up against is an opposing pitcher who will use a variety of pitches and strategies to get you off balance.
When a hitter is off balance, he or she cannot get into a rhythm or swing the bat with proper timing.
The angle and direction of each pitch aren’t the only factors you’re up
against.
There’s also the speed of the pitch. A pitcher who can dramatically change speeds on you is essentially tampering with your brain and nervous system.
When a fastball comes in at ninety-five miles per hour, the brain records it and prepares to see it again, but the next pitch might be a curveball coming in at seventy miles per hour. This one change makes it difficult for the batter to process what is happening.
These are the main reasons a player who consistently bats .300 over many years can make it into the Hall of Fame.
You might be rejected nine times out of ten in sales, yet this percentage can lead to a massive income. In advertising, you can be highly successful with sales from 1 to 3 percent of your intended audience.
This means that failing seven times out of ten is not only good, it’s fantastic, provided you keep your eyes up and maintain your enthusiasm even when all appears to be lost. It never is. There’s always a countermove you can employ, if you’re willing to search for it.
