“Expensive is more a state of mind than a reflection of reality.”
–el Furecat
A man grew up in a home where all he ever heard was “that’s too expensive” and “we can’t afford it.”
Years later, this man began learning how to break out of the cycle he was born into.
He learned to be grateful for what he currently had instead of constantly frowning about what he didn’t have.
He learned to see those who were prosperous with “kind eyes” instead of with jealousy and envy.
He learned to harvest skills that would help him rise above his “lot in life.”
And he realized the moment his life had truly changed for the better when he walked into a clothing store, picked out all the suits he wanted, along with belts, ties, shoes and socks.
What was different about this moment?
It was the fact that he never looked at the price tag before trying anything on. The thought never even crossed his mind.
After deciding on what he wanted, he walked over to the cashier and handed her all the goods.
And when she was finished ringing him up, without batting an eye, he made the purchase.
When this man walked out of the store, reality hit him.
Wait a minute, he thought to himself.
Are you aware of what you just did? You bought all these clothes without even knowing the price until the cashier told you.
This was a new reality for him.
His life changed on the inside first, and the reality he was now experiencing was a reflection of it.
At this point he was reminded of what a mentor told him years earlier in response to the question, “When do you know when you’ve escaped the poverty consciousness mindset?”
The mentor said: “When you walk into a store and make a purchase without even knowing how much the item is until the cashier tells you, and you are happy to pay for it when you find out, at that moment you will recognize that your mindset has shifted.”
Years ago, one of my mentors, Don, told me the following: “Money is just zeros. The only difference between a hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) and a million dollars ($1,000,000) is another zero.”
I cover this point and 100 others in my book, 101 Ways to Magnetize Money… in Any Economy.
You’ll probably dig this book. I wrote it in a day and my first printing sold out faster than any book I have ever written. Several people bought 100 copies to give to friends, family and co-workers.
When I wrote 101 Ways to Magnetize Money… in Any Economy, I did so to help a friend.
I had no idea that it would be a “hit,” nor did I have a clue that Nightingale-Conant would contact me to turn it into an audio book, which you can find at audible.com – if listening to a book is your preference.
ALL the BEST!
