It was the shock of my life. It blew the doors off my reality.
There I was, in my personal fitness training center in California, working hard to “get ahead,” when a garbage collector knocked on my door, wanting to hire me to be his trainer.
I didn’t know what this man’s profession was at the time, but after a brief conversation, he told me more than I could believe.
Turns out that this man, who was only 38 years of age, was already a millionaire.
From what? I wondered.
I had no idea even though the answer was hidden in plain sight.
Well, that was good for him, but there’s no way I was going to become a garbage man, no matter what the income.
I wanted to become a writer, and a prosperous one at that. I wanted to have a business that didn’t require me to trade time for money. I also wanted to be debt-free.
That was my vision. I focused on it each day, and as a result of doing so, opportunities began to come my way.
I began writing books and creating courses, and one day, one of my clients, Adam, a boy of 16, advised me to get a website on the Internet.
Website? Internet? I had no idea what he was talking about.
Adam created my first website back in 1995. I had no inkling at that time how much it would change my life, and the lives of people all over the world.
30 years later I can look back and it all seems surreal.
And yet, it all began with a vision, a mental picture, a mindset… which brought opportunities my way that I didn’t know existed.
If I would have rejected these opportunities, I’m certain that life would be quite different for me today.
One of those opportunities was learning how to become debt free and prosperous, simultaneously.
It was learning how to pay off a mortgage in seven years instead of thirty, an idea that was unbelievable when I first heard about it, as it is not followed by the masses, even though it is relatively easy to do… when you have a prosperity-prone mindset and vision.
Is this vision and mindset all there is to it?
No.
But it is the pad you launch your rocket from. It is where a change in your circumstances begins.
With a prosperity-prone vision you can do the impossible, you can rise above your circumstances; without it you can barely make ends meet.
