#1 “Thinking Big Before You’re Ready”
“Even a small success can be used as a stepping-stone to a greater one. Managers of boxers are very careful to match them so they can have a graduated series of successful experiences. We can use the same technique, starting gradually, and experiencing success at first on a small scale.“ – Maxwell Maltz, M.D. Psycho-Cybernetics, Updated and Expanded
The biggest mistake that so many people make when setting goals is “Thinking BIG Before You’re Ready.”
I am in favor of Bigger Thinking – but not before you’ve wracked up a foundation of wins that allow for a natural and spontaneous upgrade.
Thinking big before you are ready is not taught in Psycho-Cybernetics.
Why?
Because there is tremendous power in thinking smaller.
Thinking and succeeding at smaller things is the natural way people learn and grow.
You don’t begin speaking or writing in complete sentences.
You don’t learn to run before you are able to crawl.
You develop your goal-getting muscles first, and along with each victory comes greater courage and confidence – qualities which help you accelerate into the accomplishment of much, much bigger goals.

There are 59 other mistakes people make in regard to goal setting. I’ll be going over them in the Goal Getting Master Class I’m hosting on January 17, from 1-4 EST, over Zoom.
The fee for this training is currently $197, and will be going up soon. Want to take your game to the next level. Then drop me an email at goals@psycho-cybernetics and I’ll send you the link to enroll.
