Q: Matt, what do you think about using affirmations that begin with I AM and are stated in the positive, present and personal tenses?
A: When you insist on putting all three tenses into your affirmations, it will make you triple-tense. The secret is in being relaxed, not tense. For example, years ago, when I was in MIAMI, I recognized that I always used ‘I AM GOING TO…’ when I am going to eat there. And MY GOODNESS, I always got exactly what I ordered.
The funny thing is, I also noted that “I am going to” worked inside and outside of MIAMI. So I discarded the unnecessary tenses – and this relieved the unnecessary tension that was holding out on me.
