Dear Success Seeker,
I used to be a bundle of negative thoughts and feelings. I had many fears, doubts and worries.
Today I'm the total opposite.
When I go through my day I have very different thoughts and feelings than the average person.
I am totally relaxed. I rarely feel any stress. I'm not a victim of worry, fear, anxiety or depression. Nor do I feel guilty or ashamed about who I am.
I don't have negative feelings about money or success - nor am I jealous of those who have bigger cars, homes or bank accounts.

The above may sound more than a bit arrogant or braggy - but I can assure you that things were very different for me when my mind was cluttered with a junkyard full of negative thoughts and feelings.

In the October, 2006 issue of the Psycho-Cybernetics newsletter I told the story of one of my early coaches. His name was Mike Cooper. He was my high school football coach. He was no Dan Gable but, during a game where we were getting slaughtered 35-0, he gave one of the most stirring half-time speeches I've ever heard.
He came into the locker room and he poured his heart and soul into what he said to us. He slapped his hand against the chalkboard so hard you could hear the crack of his ring echo throughout the room - giving us shivers.
Then he said, "I came from that high school (Heelan High School in Souix City), they have a tradition of winning. They win all the time. They're champions year-in and year-out. And I'm trying to help you guys become champions and winners too, but you won't let me."
When he said this, he was crying his eyes out. I never forgot it. He didn't say, "I'm trying to make you guys become champions and winners and you don't have the talent; you don't have the skill; you don't have what it takes."
No. He simply said... "You won't let me."
After that game our team changed our mental attitude and our mental picture. WE LET HIM COACH US.
After losing our first four games - we won five-straight games.
Why? Because we listened and let the coach help us.
What he was talking about was allowing knowledge in. Allowing what he was teaching and communicating to be transferred into our minds. The effect was instant and it transformed our team.
No, we didn't win that game, it was too far gone. But, we did win the next five games and go on to the first winning season at our school in years.
